Trust in Emergency Response: Dataset on Time Pressure and AI Status

This dataset contains experimental data from a study investigating how time pressure and AI status influence behavioral trust in emergency response tasks. The study involved 64 active fire commanders performing an emergency reconnaissance task, where participants selected appropriate unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with the assistance of AI systems. The data include measures of: Time Pressure condition (with vs. without) AI Status (superior vs. subordinate) Behavioral trust toward AI recommendations Perceived self-capability Perceived AI capability Perceived AI responsibility Task performance outcomes This dataset allows for analysis of the psychological mechanisms underlying human–AI trust, including the mediating role of perceived capabilities and responsibility. It can be used to examine how differences in perceived capability between humans and AI shape trust behavior in time-critical decision-making contexts.
