The transition to alternative fuels is essential to reduce fossil fuel dependence and mitigate global warming. Biomass and plastic wastes, owing to their abundance, offer significant potential for sustainable fuel production. This study examines the feasibility of converting mixed biomass–plastic feedstocks into gaseous fuel through co-gasification in entrained flow reactors suitable for large-scale deployment. Experimental and numerical analyses demonstrate the production of hydrogen-rich syngas, with hydrogen yields nearly twice those reported in existing literature. The findings establish biomass–plastic co-gasification as a promising waste-to-energy pathway for the future generation of fuel production.
