Pollen and phytolith analyses were conducted on four samples from
agricultural terraces on Palau to address the function of the terraces in this
area. Two terrace systems from two separate sites were examined from prehistoric earthworks in the volcanic uplands on the island of Babeldaob in the State of Ngaraad.
