Amino acid levels, such as isoleucine, are associated with the risk of metabolic syndrome and can be modified through dietary interventions; however, individual responses vary. This study evaluated the effect of a low-calorie dietary intervention in 65 adults with cardiometabolic risk factors and developed a genetic score based on variants related to amino acid metabolism. The results showed that the response of isoleucine and several metabolic parameters differed depending on the presence of genetic variants in the TAT, HGD, BCAT2, and SLC7A9 genes. This suggests that genetic predisposition may influence dietary response.
