资源简介:
A new class of 2D materials, namely rare earth metals – transition metals surface alloys, draw attention due to their specific properties through which they can be used in a wide range of potential applications. Apart from interesting electronic properties they also exhibit impressive magnetic properties, which change when dimensions are reduced, for example, a GdAu2 surface alloy is ferromagnetic, while in bulk this alloy is antiferromagnetic. Within that proposal, we would like to lead to the end the investigation of the Gd- Pt system. Additionally, we would like to test the studied Gd-Pt system in practice, as a substrate for the deposition of paramagnetic salophene molecules and their interactions with the substrate. The main goal of the planned experiment is to see how the change of direct chemical environment of Gd in the 2D surface alloys affects their magnetic properties. We already have the data for 1 ML GdPt5, and we would like to compare the results with 1 ML GdPt2 and 2 MLs of GdPt5. The main focus will be to explore the anisotropy, the magnetic ordering, Curie temperature, and finally the magnetic moments.
