Elaeagnus mollis, commonly known as the winged fruit oil tree, is a deciduous, upright tree or shrub belonging to the Elaeagnaceae family and Elaeagnus genus. The buds are spherical and yellow-brown in color. The leaves are papery, occasionally membranous, and ovate to elliptic-ovate in shape, with semi-circular petioles. The flowers are grayish-green. The fruit is spindle-shaped, chestnut-brown in color, and contains thick cotyledons rich in oil. The species flowers from April to May and bears fruit from August to September.
