Spatio-temporal variation of bacterial communities associated with Pavona and Porites corals in the Central Mexican Pacific

Corals associate bacteria, are important for their health and functioning and may play a role in their ability to adapt to local environmental conditions. This study analyzed the bacterial community composition associated with Porites lobata, Porites panamensis, Pavona gigantea, seawater, and sediment in six zones along the Central Mexican Pacific (CMP) during two seasons over two consecutive years.
