EST sequencing. Trichophyton rubrum BMU01672

The State Key Laboratory for Molecular Virology and Genetic Engineering, National Institute for Viral Disease Control and Prevention (China) sequenced 34,670 ESTs from Trichophyton rubrum strain BMU01672. EST sequences were produced from 10 different cDNA libraries (representing mycelium and spores) covering nearly the entire growth phase. The 11,085 unique ESTs were clustered into 3,816 contigs and 7,269 singletons. The 7,764 (70%) ESTs corresponded to putative functions or matched homologs from other organisms. It is assumed that another 3,321 (30%) of ESTs with no similarity to known sequences will represent novel genes. The sequences have been submitted to GenBank under accession numbers: DW405580-DW407270,DW678211-DW711189 and EB801452-EB801703.
