Judicial Orders on Bankruptcy Applications by Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court, 2016-2018

The dataset was collected in April 2019 from China Judgments Online and involves 284 orders on bankruptcy applications issued by the Shenzhen Intermediate People'S Court between 2016 and 2018. Each order contains creditors' and debtors' information, the evidence submitted by applicants, debtors' replies, and legal reasoning. For each case, I recoded the case code, the date when the order was issued, the type of the case, the type and number of applicants, the contractual basis, the evidence submitted by applicants, judicial reasonings and other information to understand how the insolvency tests are interpreted and applied on the ground.
