This dataset supports the research article titled <i>“A Multilevel Psychometric Model of the Pygmalion Effect in Higher Education: Teacher and Student Expectations as Predictors of Academic Achievement.”</i> The study explores how teacher expectations influence the academic performance of first-semester university students in Ecuador, applying a multilevel analytical design based on the Pygmalion Effect. A total of 476 students and 30 instructors participated. Five psychometrically validated instruments were used to assess expectations, classroom climate, and teacher–student interactions. The dataset includes anonymized student and teacher responses, R scripts for confirmatory factor analysis using the <code>lavaan</code> package, visual models, and ethical documentation. Findings revealed that teacher expectations were the most powerful predictor of academic performance, supporting the development of evidence-based interventions in higher education.All data were collected with informed consent, anonymized, and prepared in accordance with institutional and national ethical standards.
