Indigenous Knowledge of Berries in the Northwest Territories, 2023-2025
收藏资源简介:
In 2017, the NWT Species at Risk Committee noted declines in the condition, size, and yield of berries in some areas of the NWT, as reported by Indigenous knowledge holders. In response, agencies across the NWT conceived a partnership program to examine these reported trends in more detail. This program aims to (1) document how people and animals use berries, (2) describe the impact of climate change and other forces on the quality and availability of berries, and (3) identify barriers and opportunities in accessing this resource. Data is owned by NWT Indigenous governments and organizations and may be used for their own research and management purposes. Further, data will inform biodiversity and conservation decision-making in the territory.
