Environmentally friendly Power-to-Gas potential of biogas plant sites in Lower Saxony, Germany

The dataset contains the results of a criteria-based suitability analysis of biogas plant sites in Lower Saxony, assessing their environmentally-friendly power-to-gas (P2G) potential for implementing methanization with green hydrogen. The analysis is intended to serve as an advisory resource for stakeholders, identifying sites suitable for PtG as an end-of-subsidy strategy, as the Renewable Energy Sources Act subsidy period comes to an end. The dataset is developed as part of the H2-FEE research project: Flexible energy carriers for the energy transition (running from July 2022 to June 2025) funded by the Lower Saxony Investment and Development Bank (Investitions- und Förderbank Niedersachsen, NBank).
