According to our previous studies, interstitial high-entropy hydrides can be prepared by direct conversion of high-entropy alloys (HEAs) under high-pressure. We are going to investigate compression of bcc-structured TaNbMoWV high-entropy alloy in high-pressure hydrogen to investigate its resilience to hydrogen corrosion and to access its potential for formation of new high-entropy hydrides (HEHs). Previously we studied HEAs based on VIIB and VIIIB groups of the periodic table including 3d, 4d, and 5d transition metals. The only system which has not been explored so is a HEA based on VB and VIB 4d and 5d transition metals. The system is important to complete systematization of HEAs based on transition elements, their compression in hydrogen, H2-induced corrosion and formation of new HEHs.
