Complete genome sequencing of the maize phytopathogen Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. nebraskensis (Cmn) A6096. The strain was isolated from infected corn (Zea mays). Like the other strains of Cmn available in the GenBank database, this strain A6096 lack of plasmid. The mining and genomic analysis of this organism will improve the understanding of the major genes that play a role in virulence during host colonization as well as during the Goss’s wilt and leaf blight diseases progression. Additionally, this new genome would be helpful for developing either comparative genomic studies with other Clavibacter subspecies or for examining the genetic variation among the Cmn strains (population genetics).
