Interspecific hybridization in Brassica species

Two Brassica napus cultivars (s70, AsAsCsCs; yu25, AyAyCyCy, allotetraploid) were selected as the maternal parent, and Brassica rapa cultivar (B. campestris L. ssp. chinensis var. purpuria Hort.; AhAh, diploid) were selected as the paternal parent. The F1 allotriploid hybrids were generated by crossing between two different B. napus and the B. rapa species. All plant materials were grown under the same field conditions located at the Huazhong Agricultural University.
