RNA-seq of the central amygdala of rats with painful diabetic neuropathy

Male Sprague-Dawley rats were administered a single intraperitoneal dose of 60 mg/kg STZ to induce diabetes. Six weeks post-injection, neuralgia was confirmed in diabetic rats through a significant reduction in the withdrawal threshold in the von Frey test. Transcriptomic analysis of the central amygdala was performed on the rats with painful diabetic neuropathy compared with the non-diabetic controls.
