Share of households with broadband internet access in Germany and EU 2006-2020

In 2020, the overall share of households in Germany that had access to a broadband internet connection was 95 percent. This constituted an increase of one percent in comparison to the previous year and an increase of 20 percent over the last 10 years. The average increase among the EU-27 member states between 2019 and 2020 was also one percent, however broadband internet connection across the members increased by 28 percent since 2010 and reached a new high of 89 percent in 2020.
