Convergent adaptive evolution promoted by rifampicin exacerbates the global burden of drug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus

This project has investigated the impact of rifampicin resistance mutations on the fitness and co-resistance of Staphylococcus aureus to other antimicrobials. Defined rpoB mutants were sequenced to ensure no additional compensatory mutations were generated during allelic exchange experiments.
