This series contains records relating to applications for registration and/or accreditation of non-government schools in New South Wales. Registration provides a school with a licence to operate, whereas accreditation authorises a school to nominate candidates for the award of the Record of School Achievement (formerly the School Certificate) and/or the Higher School Certificate. (1)The series includes both successful and unsuccessful applications. The files are arranged in numerical order. The contents of the files vary, but may include: the application for registration and/or accreditation, including information on the school's purpose, curriculum and buildings/facilities details of the proprietor and principal of the school, as well as a list of teachers and their qualifications inspection reports and investigation reports correspondence between the agency and the schools regarding registration a copy of the signed and approved registration certificate change notifications (such as change of location or school principal) renewals of registration and/or accreditation copies of Board decisions regarding the schoolEndnote1.
