This repository provides the supplementary materials for the study 'Does social identity matter in software engineering: assessing the case of research software engineers'. The materials support the analyses reported in the paper and provide transparency for the data preparation and analytical procedures used.<br>The study addresses the following research questions:<br>How do social identities cohere over time within software engineering?How does orientation toward a social identity influence professional outcomes within software engineering?The repository is organised into four main folders, each corresponding to a distinct empirical data source or documentation component.<b>1. Blog Resources</b>This folder contains the blog dataset used in the computational linguistic analyses, along with the R scripts used for text preprocessing. It also includes the LIWC-22 output files, linguistic style matching (LSM) scores, and topic modelling (MEM with PCA) results derived from publicly available RSE-related blogs.<b>2. Twitter Resources</b>This folder contains the Twitter dataset used in the analysis, together with the R scripts for preprocessing and analysis. It includes LIWC-22 outputs, linguistic style matching scores, and topic modelling results used to examine temporal changes in RSE-related discourse on Twitter.<b>3. Survey Resources</b>This folder contains the survey instrument, documentation of survey measures, the numerical survey dataset used for statistical analyses, and the R script used to conduct the survey-based analyses reported in the paper.
