This series recorded the correspondence of the Legal Aid Commission's (VA 877) Assignments Division. The Assignments Division received and assigned or refused applications for legal assistance, monitored grants of assistance and assessed legal costs.The series consists of files containing memoranda, letters, legal reports and other items. The files document the agency's policies, precedents and administrative arrangements.
