Both the accuracy and precision of the Milk Composition Analyzer (LactoStar, Funke Gerber) were validated referring to previous methods: Gerber for fat (method 2000.18; AOAC International, 2000), Kjeldahl for proteins (method 991.23; AOAC International, 2000), and gravimetric method for lactose (method 930.28; AOAC International, 2000). The results obtained using the milk analyzer were acceptable for the fat, protein and lactose contents (Supplemental Table S1).
