Integrative transcriptome level analysis identifies coding and noncoding signatures associated with gallbladder carcinoma

Gallbladder carcinoma (GBC) is a deadly malignancy originating from gallbladder mucous membrane cells. GBC's connection to gallstones (GSD) is known, but its pathophysiology remains unclear. Treatment options are limited, and prevention involves gallstone diagnosis and cholecystectomy. Our study aims to understand GBC's molecular components, focusing on two subgroups: GSD+GBC and GSD-GBC. We collected samples from eight GBC patients (four GSD+GBC, four GSD-GBC) and six GSD patients. RNA was isolated, and high-quality samples underwent sequencing.
