Between groups, difference in taxonomic compositions, feeding guild and biogeographic categories and body size were assessed independently. Within groups, difference in taxonomic compositions, feeding guild and body size were assessed between biogeographic categories. The χ2 values and its associated p.value were given for both χ2 test and Kruskal-Wallis since the Kruskal-Wallis statistic is a very close approximation of the chi-square distribution. For χ2 tests, p.value were computed by permutations tests using Monte Carlo simulations. Significant results are marked in bold.
