Officially determined by the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC), a magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck Tingri County, Xigazê City, Tibet Autonomous Region at 09:05 on January 7, with a focal depth of 10 km and its epicenter located at 28.50°N, 87.45°E. To respond to this earthquake, pre- and post-disaster high-resolution remote sensing images were utilized, integrating artificial interpretation-based information extraction methods with surface cover information including buildings, road networks, lake water systems, to conduct pre- and post-disaster comparative monitoring. Suspected disaster-affected locations such as damaged buildings, damaged roads, and surface ruptures were extracted, with key focus placed on changes in the area surrounding the epicenter, particularly densely populated areas and regions surrounding important infrastructure, to provide technical support for post-disaster emergency rescue operations.
