资源简介:
Jute retting is a microbially driven process where diverse communities of bacteria and fungi break down pectin and hemicellulose to release fibers. Analyzing the metagenome of retting water provides a comprehensive understanding of the taxonomic and functional diversity of these microbial populations. Unlike culture-based methods, metagenomics reveals both culturable and unculturable microbes, their enzymatic potential, and dynamic interactions during retting. This knowledge is crucial for identifying key lignocellulolytic enzymes, optimizing microbial consortia for faster and cleaner retting, and minimizing environmental pollution from uncontrolled retting practices. Ultimately, retting water metagenomics supports the development of sustainable, standardized, and industrially applicable jute processing technologies.
