Factor influencing worker productivity on-site construction in Cambodia: Structural Equation Modelling

Construction is one of the important sectors for future living standards and creates a competitive business environment. Productivity is the key feature for construction industries which helps for growth and survival. In construction industry, improvement of productivity leads to Gross domestic product (GDP) growth. According to literature review, six categories and 17 items are extracted to be investigated in the context of Cambodia construction company. Focusing the factors that affecting worker productivity is crucial for improving the productivity performance of the sector. A structural equation modelling technique is used to analyze data collected via a questionnaire survey of 134 respondents consist of project managers, site manager, senior engineer and site engineer. Despite the limitations of the study, it is hoped that the research outcomes will significantly contribute to improve the worker productivity performance in the Cambodian construction industry for faster delivery of construction projects within time, lower cost and higher quality.
