This dataset accompanies the study "SMART MATH MODEL: LITERACY AND ENGAGEMENT EFFECTS" submitted to Learning and Instruction. Study Design: Cluster-randomized controlled trial with 16-week intervention Sample: 900 students (450 experimental, 450 control) from 18 schools across 4 provinces in a regional area (Province_A, Province_B, Province_C, Province_D). Participants were lower secondary students (Grades 7-9). Variables include: Demographics: Student ID, school information, province, grade level, gender, age, prior achievement, SES indicators Pretest measures: Mathematical literacy total score and subscales (quantitative reasoning, spatial visualization, applied problem solving) Posttest measures: Same instruments administered at Week 16 Gain scores: Calculated change scores (posttest minus pretest) Engagement measures: Behavioral, emotional, cognitive-social engagement dimensions Intrinsic motivation for mathematics Files included: smart_math_dataset_formatted.xlsx - Complete anonymized dataset DATA_DICTIONARY.xlsx - Comprehensive codebook with variable descriptions, scales, and psychometric properties All data are anonymized to protect participant identity. Mathematical literacy assessment adapted from PISA 2022 framework.
