Self-administration medication errors at home and its predictors among older adults

Older adults with polypharmacy are more prone to medication errors. Medication errors can occur at any stage of the medication use cycle. Medication errors are a major concern for health systems because they reduce treatment effectiveness and increase costs. The present cross‑sectional descriptive-analytical study was conducted to identify the extent of medication self-administration errors (MSEs) and the contributing factors among illiterate and low-literate community-dwelling older adults with polypharmacy.
