Key features include: Composition: Eleven distinguished members representing diverse dharmic traditions, secular ethics, women, youth, and science/technology. Functions: Conducting annual Dharma Index audits; issuing advisory opinions on laws, treaties, and policies; reviewing national projects through Future Generations Impact Assessments; promoting plural harmony. Powers: Reviewing legislation, obtaining documents, issuing corrective recommendations, and initiating consultative processes with Parliament, the President, and the Supreme Court. Transparency & Finance: Independent Secretariat, budget charged to the Consolidated Fund of India, open digital publication of reports, and citizen engagement through feedback mechanisms. Global Cooperation: Partnerships with UNESCO, UN, and international ethical institutions to benchmark governance quality and address emerging global challenges such as AI, biotechnology, and climate change.
