Digital Archive from an Archaeological Evaluation at Southend Airport Solar Farm, Essex, September 2015

This collection comprises image, text, spreadsheet and CAD data from an Archaeological Evaluation at Southend Airport Solar Farm, Essex. This work was undertaken by Archaeology South-East in September 2015. Archaeology South-East was commissioned by Vantage Planning Ltd on behalf of Stobarts Rail to conduct the archaeological evaluation by trial trenching at London Southend Airport, Rochford. The evaluation consisted of twenty-six evaluation trenches spread over the 3.7 hectare development area. Archaeological features were recorded in nine out of the 26 trenches, all located in the northern part of the site and mainly dating to the Late Iron Age to Early Roman transition period.
