Implementation and Testing of Stochastic Physics in the Finite-Volume Cubed-Sphere-Limited Area Model (FV3-LAM) and Unified Forecast System (UFS) Short-Range Weather (SRW) Application

Stochastic physics will be a critical ensemble design component of the Unified Forecast System (UFS)-based RRFS Ensemble Forecast System (REFS). As part of the effort toward prototype testing and evaluation of the REFS convection-allowing ensemble (CAE), four stochastic physics schemes were implemented in the Finite-Volume Cubed-Sphere (FV3)-Limited Area Model (LAM) and included in the Short-Range Weather Application (SRW App).
