Farms of Dukes County pv
收藏资源简介:
Initially delineated in circa 2008 then updated in 2017, 2021, and 2024, the Martha's Vineyard Commission has compiled this dataset based on the best information readily available at the time of processing. Periodically, the data are reviewed by local farmers and data are modified as needed. Obviously, these data are subject to change and are only regarded as current for the day it was published. The variety of data sources include: *MassGIS Land Use/Land Cover - Pasture/Hay & Cultivated (only where NOT overlapping previously on-screen digitized farms), Towns Assessing Data for Chapter 61A Lands, On-screen digitized farms/fields from current aerial photos and *Arable Farmland where NOT overlapping with MassGIS data mentioned previously or previously on-screen digitized farms/fields. Only Arable Farmland > 0.25acres and passing the QA review were included. The farms are assigned a "Field Type": A0 = Active-Hay, A1= Active-Crops/Livestock, H = Horse Farm, I0- Inactive-Fallow, U - Unknown. The type of crop produced is indicated by a string of letters: B = Beef, C = Chicken, D = Dairy, F = Flowers, L = Lamb, P = Pork, T = Trees, V = produce/vegetable, Y = Hay, 61A = specific crop unknown but land assigned the tax use code of 61A. In 2024, the attribute table was reviewed for logical consistency and values were modified as needed. Also, polygon overlap was eradicated. No other topological cleanup or review has been performed. The many small polygons from the MassGIS dataset have not been merged into larger abutting farm/field polygons. ....a task for another time. In 2024, these farm/field data were crosschecked with the MVtimes/Island Grown Initiative Farm Map. All farms present on their map are accounted for in this "Farms: Active & Fallow - Dukes County" dataset with the exception of a few 'farms' that didn't include any land. The attribute table does indicate if a polygon is under Chapter 61 Taxation Assessment for agricultural and horticultural lands, subject to Agricultural Preservation Restrictions (APR), as well as Town ID. The APR is per the MVC's August 2024 Open Space/Conservation Land dataset.
