Densities, biomasses, body masses of canopy and soil arthropods, birds, and earthworms from rainforest and plantations in Sumatra, Indonesia

The dataset represents raw data and R code used in the publication "Rainforest transformation reallocates energy from green to brown food webs". The data was collected in Jambi province, Sumatra, Indonesia from rainforest, jungle rubber, rubber, and oil palm plots. We collected canopy arthropod communities using insecticide fogging, soil arthropod and earthworm communities using Kempson extractors and assessed bird communities using point counts and audio recorders. The data is organised in several Excel files: Data_All_raw and Data_All_2016_raw reporting densities, biomasses, body masses and other traits (literature data) of canopy and soil arthropods, birds, and earthworms (data field descriptions are available inside the tables); Data_metabolicRates and Data_Resources are supplementary files for food-web reconstruction; Data_tree_height_2013 reporting tree heights from all trees from all plots that were used in sensitivity analysis; Numbers Birds, Numbers Canopy and Numbers Soil report raw counts of individuals; Rscript_FoodwebReconstruction is R script used for food-web reconstruction.
