Number of real estate developers in China 2013-2023

In 2023, the number of enterprises for real estate development reached almost 100 thousand in China. Since the 1998 housing reform, the number of real estate developers increased almost every year. The vast majority of real estate developing companies in China are privately-owned. Despite the substantial growth in the sector, the number of state-owned real estate companies shrunk from almost 1,100 in 2020 to 1,387 in 2022, while the number of companies with investments from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and overseas also decreased slightly in the past two decades.

于2023年，我国房地产开发企业数量已接近十万。自1998年住房制度改革以来，房地产开发商的数量几乎每年都在增长。在我国，绝大多数房地产开发企业均为私营性质。尽管该行业实现了显著增长，但国有房地产企业的数量从2020年的近1,100家减少至2022年的1,387家，同时，在过去二十年中，来自香港、澳门、台湾及海外投资的企业数量也有所下降。
