Genotyping-by-sequencing data of 2299 barley accessions of the ICARDA genebank

The main goal was to evaluate the potential and limits of genome-wide predictions across genebanks using IPK and ICARDA historical phenotypic data. The focus in this study was to assess the benefits of across genebank prediction in imputing phenotypes of ICARDA accessions. This was done by comaparing two approaches: the first relied solely on the IPK genebank data (one-sided approach), while the second approach combined data from both IPK and ICARDA genebanks (integrated approach). ICARDA accessions were characterized by the GBS: briefly, DNA was digested with PstI and MspI (New England Biolabs) restriction enzymes, and sequencing was done with Illumina HiSeq 2500.
