Whole genome sequencing and de novo assembly of the Australian rainforest tree species, Rhodamnia argentea (malletwood). During plant genome assembly, we discovered the sequences were contaminated and subsequently demonstrate the feasibility of assembling a high-quality mite genome using contaminated host plant sequencing data.
