Lead prevalence by postcode sectors (Glasgow, 1993-94)

The spreadsheet lists the 1991 Glasgow postcode sectors together with the relative prevalence of raised tap water lead and neighbourhood types depicted in the map of the Glasgow 93 lead study final report, p. 34. The description of neighbourhood types can be found at the end of this metadata sheet. The original map (black and white) was divided here into six parts which cover different areas of the city (Central, N, NW, NE, SW, SE). Another map (purple) which shows accurate boundaries of the 1991 postcode sectors has been superimposed over them. Seven postcode sectors cover two areas and are coded differently in Prevalence/Neighbourhood type 1 and 2. Most postcode sectors have the same coding for Prevalence/Neighbourhood 1 and 2. Due to the method used to compile the dataset and the historic nature of the original report and map, the researchers should be critical of the accuracy of the data. The Glasgow 93 lead study final report and the six maps used to create the dataset are available upon request.
