Transcriptome analysts of a growth domain and a differentiated domain of the medaka gill.

Medaka gill filaments contain stem cells in their most apical domains and differentiated cells of diverse lineages in central and basal domains. We aim at identifying differentially expressed genes among these two functionally different regions. Overall design: The apical and central domain of filaments were extracted using surgery scissors under a dissection binocular. Total RNA was obtained from both samples and used to prepare poliA libraries.
