CWD = climatic water deficit, -PDSI = sign-flipped Palmer's Drought Severity Index, -PPT = sign-flipped precipitation, -SOIL M = sign-flipped soil moisture, TMAX = maximum temperature, VPD = vapor pressure deficit. All variables are as defined on the TerraClimate website. 'lag' = years since mortality began, negative numbers are prior to mortality year, positive numbers follow mortality year. 'value' = the z-score value for a given variable/lag combination. 'ci' = the 95% confidence interval of 'value', for n=675 sites
