PATHS SA3 Trips

Overview The Perth Area Travel and Household Survey (PATHS) 2018–2022 provides de‑identified travel behaviour information for the Perth metropolitan area, collected through face‑to‑face prompted recall interviews (6,444 households). The Trips table contains individual trip‑level records for each journey undertaken by survey respondents. A trip represents travel between two locations for a single purpose and may consist of one or more stops using different modes of transport. Attributes include origin and destination place types and purposes, travel timing, duration, distance, and derived trip‑level mode information. Privacy To protect respondent privacy, all geographic information has been masked to the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) Statistical Area Level 3 (SA3). Origin and destination locations are provided only at the SA3 level. No coordinates, addresses, or direct personal identifiers are included. Additional measures, including attribute grouping and removal of more sensitive fields, have been applied to reduce re‑identification risk. Intended use This dataset is intended for statistical analysis, research, and transport planning purposes. It supports analysis of trip‑level travel behaviour, including trip purpose, mode choice, travel time, distance, and regional movement patterns.
