This work presents the design and evaluation of hybrid CaCO3/CuO composites as multifunctional materials for thermochemical energy storage (TCES). By integrating the CaCO3/CaO carbonation-calcination reaction with the CuO/Cu2O redox cycle within a single composite, the material combines two thermochemical storage mechanisms while simultaneously exhibiting enhanced optical and thermal properties relevant for solar-driven energy storage.
