We investigate the microbiome of one the most promising aliphatic polyesters commercially available as bio-based and biodegradable plastic packaging and mulching film, poly(butylene succinate-co-adipate) (PBSA). The experiment was done over 1 year. We provide novel information using next generation sequencing on the PBSA microbiome encompassing the three domains of life, including archaea, bacteria and fungi.
