The supplementary data consist of the following files: A) The file "stromy1-4_ab_obrys.txt" includes the landmark and semilandmark coordinates of Acer campestre leaf outlines consisting of series of 198 equidistant two-dimensional points. The file consists of 400 rows and 396 columns of x and y coordinates. B) The file "stromy1-4_laloky-zilnatina.txt" includes the landmark coordinates of Acer campestre leaves consisting of 16 fixed two-dimensional points depicting their lobes, sinuses and vein intersections. The file consists of 400 rows and 32 columns of x and y coordinates. In both files, the meaning of the rows is as follows: 1‒50: tree 1, digitisation 1; 51‒100: tree 2, digitisation 1; 101‒150: tree 3, digitisation 1; 151‒200: tree 4, digitisation 1; 201‒250: tree 1, digitisation 2; 251‒300: tree 2, digitisation 2; 301‒350: tree 3, digitisation 2; 351‒400: tree 4, digitisation 2
