A case study-structural evaluation of an existing RC building

The reinforced concrete structure has been used in various forms of construction for a long time because of three superior qualities: elasticity, durability, and economy. However, RC structural performance may be decreased from many factors over time, for example, material deterioration, building usage incompatible with a building design, etc. Therefore, structural evaluation is necessary to confirm structural performance capacity with building design and guidelines for maintenance plans. This study evaluates the structural performance of an existing building in terms of loading capacity, serviceability, and durability according to DPT 1902- 19, which is associated with ACI 562 and ACI 318. Structural evaluation is considered on some structural members of the building. In order to conduct structural analysis and structural assessment, firstly visual inspections and detailed inspections are conducted to collect current structural and material properties. Based on results, structure performance is evaluated.
