Marine acoustic profile data is a pivotal dataset for comprehending marine physical properties, enhancing the accuracy of underwater target detection and localization, optimizing the design of underwater communication networks, and serving as a critical indicator for monitoring marine environmental changes. Directly observed marine acoustic profiles are unaffected by errors from model predictions or estimations, providing precise acoustic profile data. This dataset holds substantial value for scientific research, technological development, environmental monitoring, resource exploitation, and practical applications. During the summer of 2018, in the 9th Chinese National Arctic Research Expedition, acoustic Doppler current profilers (ADCPs) were used for the first time to directly measure the sound speed in the ocean. First-hand measured marine acoustic profile data were obtained in the Chukchi Plateau, Canada Basin, Mendeleev Ridge of the Arctic Ocean, and other high-latitude sea areas. This study is based on the collection and organization of acoustic profiler and synchronous CTD data during the 9th Chinese National Arctic Research Expedition, with reference to on-site voyage records, and uses relevant data processing software to unify, standardize and remove outliers from the in-situ measured marine acoustic profile data. Ultimately, a dataset with a vertical resolution of approximately 1 m was formed, including parameters such as date, time, sound speed and water depth.
