Lab 2 Milkweeds in Danby Woods

This experiment was conducted at the grassland of Danby Woods in York University with the assistance of Alexandra from BIOL 2050 Ecology Lab 02 on Sep 22, 2015 between 3:45pm and 4:30pm with the temperature around 21°C. A transect tape was randomly placed on the grassland where Asclepias syriaca, commonly known as milkweeds, were observed. The distance (in ft) on the transect from the starting point to the corresponding milkweeds was recorded. Then the height of each milkweed was measured in feet using transect as a ruler. Number of leaves on the milkweeds were counted. Crowdedness of the patch around the milkweeds was recorded in the level from 0 to 3 in which 3 means most crowded. The process was repeated for 50 milkweed along the transect.
