Shotgun metagenomic sequencing of the gut microbiome of Tetrix japonica across diverse habitats

This project investigates habitat-associated variation in the gut microbiome of the pygmy grasshopper Tetrix japonica across diverse ecosystems in China. Shotgun metagenomic sequencing was performed on gut samples collected from populations inhabiting coniferous forest, broadleaf forest, grassland, shrubland, and laboratory-reared conditions. The dataset aims to characterize taxonomic composition and functional potential of the gut microbial communities under different environmental contexts.
