Structured, machine-readable database underlying Phytoacoustics: I. A Literature Analysis (Pung, 2026). It catalogs the experimental-parameter space of the plant-bioacoustics literature: 2,991 experimental conditions extracted from 404 publications spanning 1928–2025, with each row representing one unique organism × treatment combination. Each study is decomposed into rows along every axis of experimental variation — acoustic frequency, intensity, exposure duration, stimulus identity, species, tissue type and preparation, apparatus configuration, and signal waveform — so that within-study parameter variation is preserved rather than collapsed to a paper-level summary. For every row the database records publication metadata (year, author, title, journal), acoustic parameters (frequency bounds, specific frequency, intensity, power, duration), experimental context (delivery medium, organism, tissue type, temperature, sample size), and a methodological quality score reflecting the completeness of the original reporting. Controlled-vocabulary fields (Publication Type, Study Type, Delivery Medium, Parameter Quality) follow the definitions given in §1.3 of the manuscript. Scope. The database covers any study in which sound or vibration interacts with a living organism: externally applied acoustic treatments (airborne, substrate-coupled, and liquid sonication), organism-produced vibrations (e.g. insect buzz pollination, herbivore chewing), and passive detection of organism-emitted signals (e.g. xylem cavitation, plant-emitted ultrasound). Studies using plant material purely as an inert acoustic reflector or absorber, with no biological response measured, are excluded. Contents. Plant_data.csv (analyzed database; also provided as .xlsx), Sound_analysis.ipynb (Python/pandas/matplotlib pipeline that regenerates all figures and corpus accounting from the database), 00_corpus_accounting.txt (canonical denominator output from which the manuscript's numbers are transcribed), sample.bib (BibTeX for cited works), and a README/codebook documenting the 24-column schema and controlled vocabularies. This is the frozen version corresponding to the Paper I manuscript; the database is a living resource that may be updated in subsequent releases. Licensing.
