Dataset-Self-compassion and Music Performance Anxiety The Mediating Role of Fear of Negative Evaluation and the Moderating Role of Psychological Resilience

This dataset, "Dataset-Self-compassion and Music Performance Anxiety The Mediating Role of Fear of Negative Evaluation and the Moderating Role of Psychological Resilience," was collected from music performance major students at multiple universities in China in October 2025 via the Wenjuanxing online survey platform. Using a random sampling approach, a total of 971 valid questionnaires were obtained. The dataset was used to examine the relationships among moral elevation, prosocial behavior, gratitude, and empathy. The dataset includes demographic variables and key psychological factors, including music performance anxiety, self-compassion, and fear of missing out, with psychological resilience examined as a moderating variable. These data provide insights into the resource-based mechanisms linking self-compassion and music performance anxiety among music performance major students, offering practical implications for interventions in educational, organizational, and social governance contexts.
